We are extremely proud to announce a new product for customers interested in building a one-processor dedicated server: the BaCloud AMD EPYC™ 2U210
Up until now, we’ve only offered clients only the use of Intel processors when designing the perfect custom one or two-processor servers. For 189.00€ per month (minimum order of one month), we are standing by and ready to custom build your server with a single AMD EPYC 7002 series system.
Why should you choose this system?
The AMD EPYC 7002 series has a performance per core that rivals Intel Xeon Scalable Gold and Platinum CPUs used in top HPC systems around the world. And from € per-core price perspective, the cost of the new AMD EPYC 7002 series is similar to the Intel Xeon Silver 4200 line. But you get the advantage of AMD’s more modern architecture which Intel has not caught up to yet.
We can build you a dedicated one processor server with a single AMD EPYC 7002 Series processor, up to 4TB DDR4 ECC RAM, up to 10 NVMe Enterprise SSDs at a connectivity speed of up to 10Gbps.
For example, if you build an AMD EPYC 7002 system with 256GB RAM, it would cost less than half the price of a similar system with dual Intel Xeon Platinum 8260 processors, but it packs more than half the computing power. If your software defined storage solutions include hyper-converged clusters the total cost of ownership becomes more cost-efficient by adding more nodes with more storage and adding a higher connectivity speed.
The new dedicated server system with a single AMD EPYC 7002 series processor is not for all clientele. There are still some cases where Intel Xeon scalable processors are a much better fit. If you are an HPC client that needs AVX-512 or Intel Optane DC Persistent memory, then our new product may not the best choice. If you can bypass the high cache usage of Intel’s CPUs, they still perform well. then they will for core, there are still a few areas that Intel Xeon Scalable processors excel.
But with the new AMD EPYC 7002 processor, your dedicated server will be able to take advantage of AMD’s architecture, which is more modern than Intel’s. This advantage will allow your dedicated single-processor server to perform typical workloads more efficiently with the AMD EPYC 7002 CPU.
Until the architecture of Intel’s future products catches up with current AMD has a distinct advantage due to its more modern architecture. We suggest you take advantage of our annual discount of 17 percent.
Intel is playing catch up with AMD in this area, but its competitive products are not yet in the market.
